Our first Monday Mischief

I found one of Zoe's old stuffed toys when I was doing some Spring cleaning in our master closet.  She was being good with it for the first 2 days and then... well, this happened.

When I caught her red handed she decided to put herself in time out.

Silly pup!

Morning walk to the lake

We got quite a bit of rain yesterday so Zoe was stuck inside for most of the day.  So of course first thing this morning I took her out for one of our long walks to the lake.

Any place with an open field and water to swim in makes her quite pleased.  Can you blame her?

Now, why I couldn't get her to sit still like this is the Bluebonnets a week ago is beyond me.

Happy Tuesday friends!  Are you counting down to the weekend like we are?

Wouldn't it be amazing to be a dog?

You could do this all day, every day and not have a single care in the world.  Everyday would be like a vacation.

Oh hai!  So, you're taking pictures of me again?  Proceed!

Walking through the meadow

It's so nice having so much land near our apartment and being able to take Zoe on long nature walks.  The weather has been so perfect this week, and I can't even make excuses not to take my dog out for a long walk.

Zoe is doing so good off leash these days, though I still keep treats in my pocket just in case.

I have a love / hate relationship with Southeast Texas and I just hope there are quite a few more days like this to enjoy before it starts to get too hot.

New dog bed

And Zoe approves.  She hardly ever laid in her old bed and used it mostly to eat rawhide bones and treats.   So, this makes me happy to see her enjoying the new bed I picked up from HomeGoods.  For $20 bucks I'd say this was a steal!

A gorgeous March day at Millie Bush

Yesterday morning Daniel and I took Zoe out to Millie Bush Bark Park.  It was cloudy and a bit chilly, yet so beautiful and perfect for playing a game of fetch.

There is never anything bad I can say about this park and I'm so glad almost all the cracks in the ground from last Summer's drought have filled in.  I've only started going to this park since last May and this is the greenest I've seen it.

I guess Zoe was the only one brave enough to get in the cold lake.  That's my dog!  :)

Though I wish she wouldn't drink the water.  They do have dog and human water fountains ya know!

While the sun was playing peek-a-boo, Zoe was enjoying a game of fetch.  It takes a lot longer to slow her down on cooler days like this.

"Don't worry, I've got this!"

Friday at the bayou

This morning I took Zoe for a walk to the near-by bayou.  Sadly, it was long over due and I feel like a horrible pet parent this week.  So, before I started working on anything this morning I put Zoe in her harness, grabbed the leash and off we went.

Lots of new smells in the air as Spring is approaching.  I'm looking forward to seeing this field covered in wild flowers.

It was a little muggy this morning but luckily Zoe knows how to enjoy a nice swim when she gets too hot.

I hope you all have some fun this weekend!

Laundry day woes

I was doing the laundry earlier today and found these two hiding from all the chaos under the bed.  This is also their "let's hid from the vacuum" spot.

Welcome

Hi, I'm Alison and I have an 1 year old black lab mix named Zoe. She was found wandering around by herself near a highway at just 5 weeks old. While her story begins sad, she has had nothing short of a spoiled, happy and healthy life since coming home with me and my boyfriend.
